photo friday: your fridge

14 May

This week’s Photo Friday theme was Your Fridge (and freezer, if you’re feeling funky).

At the top, working our way down, my freezer.

DO NOT JUDGE ME ON THE OBSCENE AMOUNT OF BUTTER I HAVE. (Because yes, that’s one of three packages in my freezer.)

Do you know how freaking expensive butter can be? You’d stock up, too, when it was on sale at the Safeway.

And now, a glimpse into the fridge. Or at least, the door of the fridge.

Oh look.

More butter.

Ahem.

If you don’t judge me, maybe I’ll use some of that butter to make you a batch of cookies.

You should be so lucky.*

*For serious. I make the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in the land.

I A: NEVER judge negatively in regards to the amount of butter in ones icebox (I have 4 pounds frozen as we speak) and

Thanks, Calliope! I do love me some food porn. Is really the best kind of porn. (Wait…what?) (Oh, nevermind…)

Oh, wow! I want to visit your fridge! I love butter more than Paula Deen does! Great shots –> they’re making me ‘HONGRY’…

    • mollystrz May 14, 2010 at 9:03 AM #

As long as they’re not making you hangry! (hungry + angry, for anyone reading the comments and new to slogo terminology…)

Oooh!!! Me likes! And did you see Julie & Julia? This makes me remember that part in the movie when “Julie” says, “you can never have too much butter, that is my belief”.

    • mollystrz May 14, 2010 at 9:39 AM #

Susy, I did see that movie! (I could do without the “Julie” parts, but I couldn’t get enough of the “Julia” ones.) Woman was SPOT. ON. with her beliefs about butter. (Also, I want to have Meryl Streep over for dinner sometime.) (Along with Kate Winslet.) (And Laura Linney.) (What?) (It could happen!)

I feel such a bond – I also always have huge quantities of butter on hand!

I’m running low on butter at the moment, but that’s only because I’ve been through my stock from the last time it was on sale. Cakes and cupcakes take 2 sticks with frosting! You are justified!!

Sadly, I am out of butter right now. I see a shopping trip in my future.

Butter. Yes, butter is important. And since we tend to run out all the time, we always have some extra as well.

    • mollystrz May 14, 2010 at 12:50 PM #

It may be the most important ingredient in the kitchen, no? If it’s not, then I’d like to know what is. Maybe olive oil. I think they’re tied for first in my book.

    That’s a lot of butter 🙂

I actually can’t bare to freeze things beyong what is bought frozen (or ice blocks..). It’s stupid, I know, but oh well..

I love the narrow depth of field in the first one! And the butter….mmmmm. Can you ship those oatmeal cookies to Canada?

    • Molly May 15, 2010 at 12:16 PM #

SD, I’ve never shipped anything to Canada, but I’m willing to give it a try!
