the way to really fly

13 Jul

MetraI don’t know why, but there is something I love about public transportation. There is a certain level of satisfaction one gets from being able to navigate oneself around a city and its outlying areas without ending up in, say, Iowa, or maybe Wisconsin. Truth be told, I am much better at navigating by train than I am by bus.

Except for that one time when I was 19 and trying to get from Venice to Rome and somehow wound up in Bologna.

Which sounds a lot cooler and snobbier than it was.

Probably not long after you wound up in Bologna, I was traveling from Interlaken to Rome and wound up in Geneva, Switzerland. That’s the opposite direction. Never listen to boys, they can’t read train schedules.
